I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Bankers Life in Jun 2016
Interview
This was a group interview setting at a Bankers Life Phoenix office. There were 6 of us present, including me. We were given a bottle of water. The session was scheduled to last an hour. The presenter, who has been an agen with the company for over ten years, used a PowerPoint deck to drive the presentation. The presentation explained how the business model worked and what was required, e.g., state license to sell insurance, etc., in order to start our business. The presenter also described his personal experiences. As someone having his first insurance agent job search experience, I found the information very useful. I will no doubt use it during the other insurance interviews I had scheduled for later that week.
We were given ample time to ask questions. I was the only one in this group that asked any questions. I felt the responses were informative and transparent.
The decision to call us back for a second interview with a manager was dependant on our resume and the impression we made to the recruiter who was performing the presentation.
Later that afternoon, I accepted an offer to have the second meeting.
For anyone seriously considering becoming an insurance agent, I can recommend attending one of these sessions.

Question 1
Candidates were not asked questions during this session
At first is pretty much a really quick screening process over the phone, then a phone interview, and then like two in person interviews basically, with two different higher ups.
I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Bankers Life (Muncie, IN) in Mar 2026
Interview
It started with a briefing seminar in a group before an in person interview. The questions were brief and in line with other sales jobs. Motivation seems to be the highest desire from the employer.
Very easy group briefing and then a personal one on one interview. You get to see exactly what you'll be getting into and the awesome structure of the company. You also get to see how you can develop your career there.
