I went through six rounds of interviews (2 with a recruiter and 4 with various individuals within marketing). After each interview, I received stellar feedback from everyone, however, one interviewee (the hiring manager) mentioned she thought I would get "bored" on the job because of my experience within marketing. This seemed a bit odd, because I would imagine someone wanting someone with experience. During the 5th interview (which I thought was my last), I was told by the HR person that I was the only person to make it that far in the interview process since their search started in February (it is now May) and that everyone on the team really liked me. Between the 5 and 6th interview, I was told that a slew of interviewees came in (odd as it seemed all of a sudden) and that they wanted me to wait two weeks. After two weeks, I was asked to go on another interview, making it the 6th. A week later I received a call saying that the company went with someone else and I was given the potential reason is because they "see me as a leader". I was perplexed by this as why wouldn't an organization want someone with the skillset and that can lead. It all seemed very coded and not forthcoming. I feel that their process was unorganized, inconsiderate and a waste of time, on both ends. The process took well over a month and I was gaslit throughout.
