I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Birdeye (Palo Alto, CA) in Dec 2019
Interview
Phone call with the hiring manager was great. When I arrived on-site I was informed the position responsibilities had changed. I was not made aware of this change before, as I would have prepared differently.
Onsite was poorly organized, the interviewers were coming and going as they pleased. The last interviewer was on his phone the whole time and was more interested about his ego than hiring for this role.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Birdeye (Palo Alto, CA) in Nov 2019
Interview
I applied online and got an email from the lead product designer within 3 days. He asked me to write a paragraph to describe my experience even though I had attached a cover letter, Linkedin profile, portfolio website, and resume. He then asked me to prepare a 3-4 slide to present during the video screening after the first initial email.
Considering the position title - I had a truly unfriendly user experience from the pre-screening interview. I interviewed with 3 designers for the video call (which is unheard of considering it was the first round), one designer was late to the call and nosy background. They didn't even look at the slide I had prepared and asked unrelated questions!! It was a waste of my time.
