Booking.com User Experience Designer interview questions

The process was a coding challenge followed by a telephone interview. The coding challenge was a CSS task to show your proficiency in the language which was part of the job description. This was then to be followed by a telephone interview with the recruiter.

The process is long but quite efficient. The recruiter from bookings.com (Matthew Cooper) phoned me right after applying online. I made it all the way right through to the face to face interview in Amsterdam. The technical test hackerank and live online coding tests were really easy and wet well. Travelling half way across the world was nice and in my mind the interview went really well. After returning I was told I would be notified of the outcome the following day. However 2 weeks later I called them just to find out it was unsuccessful. The feedback as quite disappointing as they said I do not meet the technical requirement. This did not make sense as I have been a front end developer for over 7 year leading teams on large FinTec projects. I also lecture part time at university with in depth CSS/HTML topics. I was totally blown away by the feedback and the fact that I had to call them to find out the outcome. I am left to wonder what unicorn they are on the hunt for.
