I applied and interviewed in person at the Omaha office.
I got a tour of the office, it's Facebook style massive open floor plans. Pretty cool. Everyone has hip standing desks and gaming laptops! There's a cafeteria and a "gaming balcony", a (free?) sports bar, a sort of mini-golf game on each floor.
After the tour we did a sort of "panel interview" with some managers, some engineers. I found it odd that no one knew what team I'd work on, what products, what technologies, or who would be my manager -that was a first-.
The technical portion of the interview was honestly the simplest I've ever taken part in in 10 years. They asked me to define some basic terminology and how familiar I was with different technologies. Having been an interview-er for a long time I don't see how any sort of assessment could be made from this, but I answered their questions.
We spent almost 4 hours in their office, then I headed out.
It's been about a month now and when I reach out to BT they tell me they're working on it and will update me soon, they're always super busy for one reason or another. I've decided not to pursue it if they do reach out to me as I don't feel that my time has been respected;' honestly I don't even know what they'd have me do despite a 4 hour interview.
