I applied online with a CV and maybe answering a couple of questions. I was contacted by email by PVH Corp HR for a group interview. I was not advised on the dress code or what the interview was going to entail (group or 1 to 1 etc). They were hiring for a new store, and there were 40 people for the interview.
There were a few people present, a couple of managers for other stores, an assistant manager and a PVH Cop HR guy. We were asked in groups to put different brands onto a graph regarding their styling (fashion forward or classic) and their pricing. We then discussed ideas with the whole group and the guy who was interviewing us.
Next we were asked to (again in groups) pick an item of clothing, and do a presentation on its features and benefits. There were quite a few applicants who knew a lot about clothing (much more than I did) but I think they were testing our presentation skills and confidence more than anything.
Next was to get into pairs, we were given a complaint from a customer and we had to write down ways to deal or solve the problem, and again discuss with the group. During these activities, the other members of staff took each one of us to one side for a very basic and informal one-to-one interview.
Lastly, we passed down a product down a line and had to reassure the customer they had made the right choice and a reason why e.g. The colour is so flattering on you or CK's are a classic, investment piece etc.
Overall it was a fun and engaging process, I would recommend wearing something really smart (I wore black cigarette trousers and a white fitted shirt) being friendly, working together well and demonstrating your communication skills
