      I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Caltrans (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2017

      Interview

      1. Timed 15 minute analysis test. I was given a problem situation, and five documents (org. charts, policy, & procedure docs.) to read and process. I was told to come up with a written, and oral solution. 2. Present solution to the panel (4 people). 3. Timed 30 minute Q&A. Each person on the panel would ask a question. There was a total of 7 questions.

      First came the written test, which asked you to write a response to the prompt given. Then came the face-to-face interview with three proctors asking a number of questions. All three took notes.

      Panel of three in person. Basic questions about your experience previously as a PIO. They place a lot of emphasis on experience and skills and require you to know how to do a lot of things such as writing, programming, video, and graphics.
