I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Chipotle (New York, NY) in Feb 2016
Interview
I went in for interviews in 2014 and 2016.
In 2014, the process consisted of a three-step interview: a group interview, a solo interview with a restaurant manager, and a tour/overview of the restaurant during which you are expected to ask questions and interact with the crew to see if you're a good fit for the company.
I went through the whole process and was told I'd receive an email as to whether I got the job. No email ever sent. I had felt pretty good about my hiring prospects given one of the crew members told me I most likely had gotten the job. Seemed like an aimless three day process in which I could've been applying elsewhere.
In 2016, I was told by a friend recently employed at Chipotle that my chances of getting hired there were pretty good in light of the E.coli breakout they suffered from. The interview process was much more compact and trimmed down. A manager read a list of 4-5 questions to me and after the interview (20 minutes or less) told me to bring in my SSN and passport the next day and that I would be given a short tour of the restaurant. I feel it was safe to assume that I was *almost* hired; I was informed that this manager really liked me and that I stood out. When I got there the next day a different manager told me I had come in at an unusual time (I arrived 20 minutes earlier than when I was instructed to) and ended up having to go through the "interview" again for an hour and a half, (going around and talking to everyone, asking questions) I was told at the end of that I'd be notified whether I got the job or not, despite being initially told I would be filling out paperwork that day.
Needless to say, they didn't contact me, but the hiring process was disorganized enough that even though I initially wanted to work at Chipotle and hopefully become a manager, I'm fairly okay with not being contacted. I admired their message and still do, but their stores are constantly in turmoil (dirty, long waits) Three interviews seems a bit arduous for $10/hr; especially given their value as a company very recently plummeted and their stores are very visibly struggling to recover.
I applied online and was brought in for an interview. The interview questions were fairly easy. The woman interviewing me was in a very bad mood. It felt like she was rushing through the interview.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Chipotle (North Brunswick, NJ) in Jun 2021
Interview
I just got a paper sheet to fill out with information filled out online, then got an interview where I was asked questions. I did not get the job due to no experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Belton, MO) in Jun 2021
Interview
Went inside and sat at one of the tables and the manager interviewed me. He was very welcoming and seemed like a really nice person. Overall a very casual, laid back interview.
