The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Chipotle (Crystal Lake, IL) in May 2012
Interview
I, being a college student, applied online for many jobs looking for summer employment. I was shocked to hear back from Chipotle in about 2 days after I applied, quickest response I received. I was sent an e-mail for the store general manager saying that they'd like to have me come in for an interview the next day. I felt that was quite short notice, but I went with it. I went to the store dressed in black pants and a dress shirt. I looked a fool. Everyone in the restaurant was in jeans or lower grade clothing. I was quite embarrassed, but I went with it. When I arrived promptly at my scheduled time I had to awkwardly wait in the restaurant for a manager to come talk to me. After 20 minutes of waiting finally the kitchen manager, some what grimy man, comes to talk me. He asks basic questions and I responded eagerly to each one. I felt as though the interview was going great, the manager even gave me a tour of the place. After a week or so of not hearing back from the place I became disappointed. Finally, about 10 days after the interview I got a generic e-mail back saying they went with someone more experienced. I was disheartened. I feel as though they were not looking for summer help, but yet they wouldn't say straight up. I guess I am just upset that the manager left me at the end of the interview expecting the job, but I ended up not getting it. I still don't have a summer job, ugh.
Asked questions about what positions work best for you, why you want to work there, what makes you a good fit there, where you see yourself in 5 years. Very simple and open to answer any questions I had
I applied online. I interviewed at Chipotle (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2026
Interview
Very brief, was only asked a few questions. I felt a decision about not hiring me was made before the interviewer even sat down. I suspect the interviewer was not accustomed to interviewing and may actually only standing in for a manager that was not working that day
The interview process included an application, attending a brief in-person interview, answering questions about teamwork, availability, customer service, and attitude, and was sometimes followed by a same-day or quick hiring decision.
