I applied online for a local store because I had worked for them way back in 93 and again, when they were STAX a couple of years later with no job performance issues whatsoever. I went to the store to put a face with the name just in case and the manager asked me if I could come in the next day for an interview so I did. Interview went fine, she seemed happy with everything and said I would have to be approved by the other manager and they would let me know. I waited 3-4 days and went in to inquire as to whether they made a decision and she looked everywhere but in my face and claimed she didn't know that Circle K has a policy against re hiring former employees. Really??! 20 years ago and corporate heads haven't changed or something to change such a nonsensical policy?
I shopped there today for the first time since (over two months ago) and noticed a hiring sign in the window. When the girl there called out the standard greeting, I said "If you'll had hired me, you wouldn't be hiring now!" She kind of grunted and wasn't the least bit friendly for the remainder of the transaction.
