One of the more unprofessional technical interviews I have encountered in my career. The first interviewer was rude, discouraging, had a negative demeanor, and kept interrupting me as I was attempting to talk/code my way through the question. They also tried to force me to answer the entire question verbally before writing any code at all despite this not being how I tackle interview questions. I always continue to explain my thought process throughout writing my code as well, which made this even more odd. Although the second interviewer was much more amenable and encouraging, both the question and process for performing the system design task were lackluster. The question itself was extraordinarily generic with hardly any detail at all or use cases, but they seemed to have a very specific idea in mind of the answer they wanted. Visualizing the design of the system was done over an online canvas that somehow had even less functionality than a 1990s version of Microsoft Paint, which wasn't helpful at all and made it far more difficult to convey my answer. Additionally, despite neither interviewer saying anything directly negative about the company, the description of both interviewers' daily jobs left the impression that the company itself is incredibly disorganized and doesn't have proper leadership, which is pretty standard for a Silicon Valley company. I would not apply to this company again.
