An Utter Waste of Time - Unprofessional and Disrespectful Interview Process
I recently had the misfortune of interviewing with this company, and it was hands-down the most bizarre and unprofessional experience of my career. The interviewer—who I’ll refrain from naming, though I doubt he’d care—seemed to have zero interest in conducting a legitimate interview. From the moment it started, he didn’t bother turning on his camera, gave no introduction, and skipped any semblance of a job description. Instead, he launched straight into a barrage of irrelevant questions about Selenium locators, despite my repeated emphasis that my latest experience is in JavaScript, not Java.
I answered his questions anyway, showcasing my adaptability, but it was clear he wasn’t listening or remotely interested. He insisted I write Java syntax—again, completely ignoring my background—and after a measly 8 minutes, he abruptly declared he was “done” and “not interested.” No feedback, no discussion of my relevant skills, no questions about my actual experience. It felt like he was just going through the motions, or worse, had some personal agenda that had nothing to do with hiring talent.
This company clearly doesn’t value people’s time or skills. Avoid at all costs unless you enjoy being disrespected and dismissed by someone who can’t even be bothered to fake professionalism.
