I had a call with the recruiter. After that, I had an initial phone screen that had two LeetCode questions. Since I passed that, I had the onsite which consisted of four rounds which included design, coding, and culture fit. Overall, the interviewers asked great questions and were very interactive. At each stage, the recruiters were very quick to take availability and schedule the interviews. I had to change my interview time and they were very accommodating. The recruiter also relayed feedback which more or less aligned with my own assessment of my interview. The pay is more than competitive in the Madrid market and the benefits are extensive. I felt the process spoke really highly to Datadog and made me really like the company. After the offer, I went through a team matching phase. I met one team and it wasn’t a match and the recruiter did a great job with the feedback to set up a call with a team I was more aligned with. The senior engineering manager and manager I talked to were really passionate about focusing on mentoring their people which is a great sign. I declined because I wanted to take a risk with my career.
