Applied for the role cause the salary range was available on MyCareersFuture and it's within the range of what I'm looking for. My application got picked up by HR few days later and during the screening call, HR wanted to progress me to the first round of interview but asked about my salary expectations. I politely declined to reveal at this juncture and wanted to go through the interviews first, but when she insisted that I quote an amount, I told her I needed some time to think about it and will get back to her in a day. That was when I was met with a very rude response (i.e. "why do you need 1 day to think about it, you should know how much you're looking for since you applied for the role", ") and begrudgingly said ok and hung up. I felt taken aback but promptly did my research/thought about it and told her an amount I would be comfortable with. What I got in response was a rude reply saying they won't be able to continue with my application because I quoted an amount that was too high for them (it was mid range of what was quoted on MyCareersFuture) and thanking me for my interest. Lol.
