4 interviews in total: Screening with talent acquisition + Hiring manager interview + Product managers interview + UX designers interview (assignment review and questions).
The talent acquisition person was efficient, friendly, and responsive. The Product Managers were also really great, they made me feel like I wanted to work with them.
The assignment was the trickiest part. They told me to spend only 2 hours on it, but then expected a final design ready to ship, despite giving me zero context about the product. I expected the assignment to be used as part of the discussion where I could explain my design decisions and how to improve it, etc.
Advice to Management: Make it clearer what you expect from the assignment results, and consider giving the UX designers training on how to conduct interviews.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself, tell me about your process
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at DoiT in Sep 2025
Interview
I interviewed for a UX Designer position and, unfortunately, had a negative experience overall.
The Head of UX seemed distracted and uninterested in what I had to say during the interview. From the start, it felt unclear what they were actually looking for.
He claimed the design team had 'no egos', but sometimes responded to my points by boasting about his own achievements, which came across as unprofessional and gave me the impression he was more focused on proving himself than on genuinely listening.
Many of the questions he asked felt irrelevant to the actual role and seemed designed more to put me on the spot or make me 'prove' something, rather than to genuinely explore my skills or fit.
When I asked questions about the role and team dynamics, his responses felt defensive rather than open or collaborative. That made it difficult to get a clear understanding of the team culture or the role itself.
Ultimately, my rejection feedback didn't reflect my background or skills as a designer, which reinforced the impression that he hadn't really listened or engaged with what I shared.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at DoiT in Mar 2023
Interview
It was quite an extensive interview process. I had 4 interviews with different people which gave me a good impression of the job, colleagues, and requirements. Everyone was super friendly.
