I applied online. I interviewed at Equitable Advisors (New York, NY) in Dec 2022
Interview
Absolutely the worst interview I’ve ever had. The interviewer was beyond rude. She sped through so much detail in such speed I thought she was on drugs. Barely comprehensible, since she did not take one breath between her words. Then she told me there are 3 ways to get paid: 1. Base salary 2. Commission only (which she said I likely won’t make $ the first 3-4 months), and 3. Mixture of base and salary. She gave into and numbers about each but I honestly couldn’t understand. I told her I’d like to consider the options in which made her become frustrated and she said I HAD to choose right then because it determined whether I would get second interview. Which is confused based on the facts he said those were my options like I got to choose how I’d like to receive my paychecks. Anyhow I gave her my option of the mixed, and I explained why and she didn’t like that I chose it so she said forget that option is available which one would you choose. I said realistically I have bills to pay and cannot afford to risk solemnly on commission at least not my first year. And that pissed her off more so she then went on to angrily tell me I’m not a good fit and I should go on linked in again and apply for other companies in which she made clear was less desirable than Financial Advisor. I’d give the interviewer’s name but I think if you speak to her you’ll know who she is. Bless you, maybe you’ll get a better interviewer. I agree with her that it wasn’t the right fit and she chuckled and hung up on me. If that’s the kind of management the company has…then run!

Interview
Quick process, show you're hungry and they'll give you a shot. Had one zoom, one in person meeting, and then a compensation breakdown. Nothing guaranteed, up to you to make money. Good for someone self motivated and will bet on themselves.

Online video interview that was vague on job duties. Interview length was fast and convincing I was a good fit but there was no follow up. Company will ghost you.

Interview
2 rounds of phone interviews and then 1 interview in office where you make a presentation about prospecting for clients once you would have the role. Phone calls were behavioral while the in office was more about your plan to succeed
