I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Everlight Solar in Nov 2021
Interview
Had three interviews over the course of a month and was slated for a fourth. Interviews were done via zoom and felt very impersonal and scripted. You can't see your interviewers face, you're just talking to a blank screen. Questions were a mixed bag of relevant skills to complete nonsense such as "Everlight is like a rocketship, are you ready to get on a rocketship?" Constant mention of how many people were applying to this particular position. Lots of scripted talk about company culture and having the right attitude. The whole process felt like I was interacting with scummy salespeople who didn't respect my time. I thought the company was a pyramid scheme at first and would not have bothered with this ridiculous month-long process if I wasn't desperate for work.

Question 1
"How excited are you for this opportunity?"
"What's your best friend like? And who do you think is more ambitious?"
"On a scale of 1-10, how good do you feel about this position?"
"Everlight is like a rocket ship, are you ready to get on a rocket ship?"
"Are you ready to jump in with both feet?"
They wasted a lot of time. First I applied, then I had a screening interview, After that I had a phone interview that was really just a appointment to schedule time for another zoom interview. After that they had me actually come in to their space for a very informal in-person interview where they mostly asked odd personal psychology questions to see if I would fit their specifically curated work culture. I didn't feel taken seriously by the end. It would have been different if the interview process had been more streamlined.
TLDR: there was a lot of unnecessary scheduling and semantics for them to just reject my application based on vibes.
