I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (Los Angeles, CA) in Jun 2014
Interview
Did not really go through HR.
1) Phone interview with supervisor - asked me to elaborate my resume (mostly walking through what I know in terms of skills and experience) and wanted me to come in for an office interview. Felt like he puts some emphasis on Excel. So I brushed up my Excel skills in case I might be tested when I visit the office, but no questions about Excel was asked.
2) Office interview - the same supervisor who called me + another associate interviewed me. 2 on 1. 100% behavioral questions (what kind of boss do you prefer to work it? what is the most difficult decision you had to make? tell me about your brainstorming experience recently?) Expect about ~20 questions like that. My advice to you is prep prep rep and practice.
3) After talking to them I was handed a work prioritization paper. You have to prioritize the tasks and explain why (all in writing)
4) Was directed to another manager's office. More behavioral questions and 3 mental math problems. Asked for GPA.
5) Then finished the interview with a test on the computer. Not a technical test, just challenge your ability and thinking process on how to infer, deduce, assume, and conclude. You don't need any knowledge of accounting or Excel or job-related to do this test.
I got a call 5 days later and the supervisor informed me that I was one of the top candidates. I needed to email my transcript to them. 2 days after that HR called and said they'd like to extend the offer to me.
Very normal interview experience. I personally thought I bombed it, however.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Farmers Insurance Group (New York, NY) in Mar 2022
Interview
In my initial phone interview I was asked questions about myself and some basic accounting questions. They asked me what would I find on a income statement and balance sheet. They asked me what functions I’m used to using in excel (they were looking for me to say pivot tables). Second interview was held on webex with the hiring manager and they pretty much wanted to know about my qualifications and some basic journal entry questions.
