It took me by surprise how the HR team of such big company can be so humble and helpful. I was trying to attach my resume when applying online for this role and for some reason kept getting errors. Contacted the HR director on Linkedin and asked for help. He replied to me in less than a day, asking for me to email him my resume directly. Few weeks later, he called me and said I have been shortlisted and am invited to do a test.
The HR specialist who was helping me with time arrangements were incredibly patient and kind. She made sure all of my questions were answered and even offered to email me the test during the weekend since I was working full-time over the week.
The test was on PHP, CSS, HTML and SQL ; nothing out of ordinary and I had 90 minutes to complete it. Hopefully I did well and was invited over for an interview. The first round was with the team lead and it felt more like an initial screening. I think he wanted to make sure we are on the same page and I would fit in. For the next and final round I met with two senior developers, who asked me more technical questions.
Questions were quite reasonable. Mostly same level as the test I was sent and also the projects I had done before. I was asked to explain few things and then they would ask more detailed questions. The whole process went by smoothly and everyone was so nice and respectful.
There was also no suspense or waiting in stress ! Few hours after the last round, the HR director called and let me know he was going to send me the formal offer. The experience was quite positive; I felt I was treated with honesty, fairness, ,respect and was given a chance to show my skillset. That is quite rare with companies of this size in this day and age !
