The recruiter called and asked about my background, but then directly asked if I am a U.S. citizen. I explained that I have valid long-term work authorization and do not require sponsorship. Despite that, I was told this could still be a problem. This kind of question is inappropriate and goes against federal employment law. What’s more concerning is that the company states in its job description that it is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on national origin or immigration status — but in my experience, that commitment was not upheld. According to the U.S. Department of Justice and USCIS, it is illegal to treat individuals differently in hiring based on whether they are U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or have other valid work authorization.

Applied online, Did four zoom interviews with finance manager, finance director, product manager, and HR. Pretty standard experience questions regarding finance knowledge and forward thinking. The interviews were okay, but I couldn't shake this feeling they were not being so truthful in their words. I did some research on glassdoor and linkedin and found they are laying off hundreds of employees and forcing them to move. The jist is that there will be tons of open roles and new employees taking on huge workloads left behind by the employees they burned. In my opinion, FBIN is a dumpster fire, has broken systems, and will have nobody left to provide quality training.
