I applied online and received an email from a recruiter a few days later to schedule an initial interview. The conversation was professional. I was asked applicable questions about the role and to see If I would be a possible fit. At the end of our meeting, she asked me to send her an overview of background and experience to ensure that she would properly communicate this to the hiring manager. I did so and was told they get to me in a week with the next steps. A month later, I still have not heard back from them and my follow-up emails went unanswered. I understand why companies decide to move forward with other candidates. However, it reflects poorly on organizations when they do this. I probably dodged a bullet by not working at GEICO, but it was disappointing nonetheless.
