I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Gong (South San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2021
Interview
One of the hardest interviews I've been through but extremely rewarding. I had a recruiter reach out to me to schedule an interview and I did a:
- phone screen
- series of 3 interviews with 2 hiring managers and a director
- series of 2 interviews with a Sales Director and Creative Director
(5 total)
Everyone is very professional, friendly and transparent
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself
Why sales?
Why SDR? (not the same as "Why Sales?")
Why are you making this transition?
Why GONG specifically?
What makes you a good candidate?
A lot of "tell me about a time when...?"
(i.e. you failed and succeeded, failed and didn't succeed, collaborated, had a difficult experience that you overcame)
I applied online. I interviewed at Gong (Chicago, IL) in May 2026
Interview
Interview process was great. Definetly competive as they want the best of the best. Be prepared as much as you possibly can. Definetly one of the better companies to work at.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Gong (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2025
Interview
Interviewed with SDR manager, then other SDR manager for mock call, then final interview with a different SDR manager. All people were very nice. Interviews were pretty casual and standard. Gong has high expectations since it's a very competitive role, so take some time to prepare. Mock call was fun!

"Any professional or personal goals you're working on?"
"What makes you different from other candidates?"

Interview
The interview process was four rounds. Phone screening, hiring manager, cold call exercise, and final round with another manager. The cold call exercise was a little intimidating initially, however, the manager gave great actionable feedback!
