      Interview

      Very lengthy and in-depth, but it needs to be. Working from home is not for everyone, and you want a company to be rigorous in their hiring process when you can only get to know your coworkers virtually and thus have to give them a lot of trust. The process began with filling out an application and taking personality and values assessments. After that were 3 interviews - 2 over the phone and 1 on Skype, over the course of about 4 weeks. It helps tremendously if you have a reference at Goodway as over 80% of current employees came from employee referrals.

      Many of the questions are centered around working from home and how self-motivated you are, obviously providing examples. Of course different types of questions will be asked for different positions applied for, but for my position I had to give examples of meeting tight deadlines, a time when I screwed up and how I fixed it, the ability (and want) to help coworkers who may or may not be on your specific team, etc.

      After getting an internal referral, I did the required online testing, and then had a phone interview with the HR person. I received my response 2 days later with verbiage about them pursuing other candidates and my not having the experience that position needed and they would hold onto my resume. I followed up with the interviewer by asking for some more specific feedback on why I was not offered a position. Plus, I asked for some advice on improving my interview skills and some help with what I could do differently. Then I asked if I could apply at a later date for other positions. After several weeks/months, the interviewer did get back to me with some information that clearly showed he/she had no recollection of our interview. I was very dissappointed; I really truly wanted to work for this company. I had only heard great things and I had hoped that internal referrals would be more meaningful than just someone nobody knows, especially for virtual positions that require so much trust.

We are growing at a fast pace that it is not surprising if it took longer than expected for the recruiter to get back to you.       The interview process was incredibly thorough and detailed, but I felt as though I was being strung along. I appreciated their level of detail and commitment to their objectives, but also felt unfairly judged for subjective interpretations of answers.

      Thank you for the honest feedback. We try to provide a thorough and timely interview process but it is not always possible. We do interview all of our applicants with behavioral interview questions which ask for specific examples from the applicants experience. We are making a judgement of the qualifications based on the examples and information provided. It maybe that Goodway may be a better fit for you at some point in the future. I wish you the best moving forward and hope you find the perfect job you are looking for.
