I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Groupon (Chicago, IL) in Oct 2018
Interview
Interview process began with an initial phone conversation with one of their company recruiters. Once passed, you are scheduled for an in-person interview, usually with 2 members of your department ranking in different positions. In my case, I spent 20 minutes with one person and was sent to shadow a current employee in the position that I was interviewing for. After asking questions and attempting to learn what I could, I then met with the second interviewer, who seemed very uninterested and hardly asked any questions. The guy also seemed very arrogant and failed to tell me his position or any of his background with the company which was also off-putting.
Despite my actual interest in the company and position, in the end I was not offered a position, which baffled me a bit, considering when I was sent to shadow another employee there was 3 of them sitting around talking. I guess, they don't want hard working people.
Oh well, their loss.

In person interview to walk through experience and knowledge as well as problem solving focused interview questions. Sales experience and pitching are also a focus of the overall final interview.
It was pretty easy. There was a call with a recruiter that included some simple questions and felt more like conversations and then an in person interview with the manager(s) in the Groupon Chicago office.
