I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HD Supply in Apr 2013
Interview
Laid back stress free interview, some even take you out to lunch and to look at apartments. More personal questions than job related. They don't expect you to know much about the industry up front, they will teach it to you. Have heard of other locations putting interviewees up at hotels or paying transportation, wasn't necessary in my case though.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HD Supply
Interview
It was laid back. I obviously dressed nice for the interview. It's a construction career so your answers don't need to be too formal. I wouldn't recommend applying unless you know someone in that industry that will vouch for you. Also know that you WILL BE DRUG TESTED. Also know that most of the people applying for this company usually have at least 10 years experience.

The branch manager took a look at my resume and basically hired me on the spot for my past experience. He then described that this particular branch was very high volume. He asked basic questions about me based on the resume he had in front of him, and that was about it.
