I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Hearst (New City, NY) in Feb 2017
Interview
I got a short 15 minute phone interview and was asked to come in person, I had a lengthy interview where we talked about my skills and the required motion graphics pop culture work for their magazines. I told the employer of a certain documentary project I was doing on the side, his response was "we do not do that kind of serious work around here". After the interview was complete I was told that I would receive an assignment to test my motion graphic skills. I never received any assignments or emails, I wrote a follow up email with no response. No common courtesy to notify people that they found a more suitable candidate, don't just keep people in the loop, very unprofessional.
