This review is for the Hearst Autos team. I went through a recruiter phone call, then a call with the hiring manager, then a take-home assignment, then a final 4 interview round. At the end of the final round, I was told that I would hear back with feedback within the next day/beginning of the next week. I never heard back from the team again despite following up twice. I understand if in the end I wasn't a good fit for the role, but it's rude and unprofessional to not send even a generic rejection email. I spent so much time on the interview process not only talking to different members of the team, but also hours and hours of prep for the take-home and technical rounds. Additionally, there was no help on the recruiter end in terms of how to prepare. I was told by the hiring manager that the team looks for general coding competency and not necessarily specific language fluency, but I was quizzed on HTML, CSS, and NodeJS specifics. Overall a rude and abrasive process.
