Started with a simple, quick phone conversation with a manager about the job opening and to set up an in person interview. A week later I came into the office, first met with the manager I originally spoke with, then a second manager. Both conversations involved information about the company and job, as well as information about myself; your typical resume questionnaire. Was told I would receive a call in the next couple of days. The next day I received a call from the second manager I spoke with. He told me that because I was looking for a sales position without much sales experience, he wanted to try something to test my current sales abilities. He confirmed my hometown then told me to call him back in a few minutes, pretending he was a homeowner looking to move to that area, and to sell him on buying a home in my hometown. Really put me on the spot. We ended the call, I researched and prepared for few minutes then called him back and gave him my pitch. Following the impromptu staged sales pitch he gave me advice and constructive criticism, then we scheduled a third interview to be held in person within the next week. The third, and final interview was with a third manager. This interview was mostly about the company, position and career path. I received an employment offer within a week of my final interview.
