Contacted directly by hiring manager for a series of video interviews with him and the rest of the team. The conversation with the hiring manager was great; the rest of the team, not so much. Three of them logged on, and only one had his camera turned on. This is a commonality in video interviews these days, and it’s so unbelievably awkward for the candidate, not to mention unprofessional. The one with his camera on was clearly messaging coworkers throughout the interview. A few things he said led me to believe that they already had an internal candidate in mind. Let’s hope so, as I wouldn’t have accepted the position either way.
