Initial interview was simple. Met with a floor manager of the department I was to be stationed in permanently. Was glad I was looking for full-time, permanent work. Not Christmas temp work. Liked my resume. After a few questions, I met with store manager. He told me main store policy of "customer first and foremost". Then, offered me position. Told me it would be eight dollars an hour. Non negotiable. And that everyone works part time. No full time employees. But would definitely be permanent.
However, when I began my training, I was told it was "seasonal, temp" work. If I did good they would keep me. That no one gets hired permanently. Therefore - keep on your toes and don't believe everything you are told. Have to say that I love the job, love my bosses, love the people I work with. Too bad it cannot be a full-time job, with benefits paid, and a decent wage (at least enough to barely survive on without having to get another full-time position elsewhere!) Bottom line - no career at JCP - only part-time "extra" work.
