Applied and recruiter reached out to me about a week later. Set up a basic phone interview and the recruiter was 15 minutes late. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I assumed that they weren't going to call and got busy doing something else. They caught me off guard by calling me at the 15 minute mark, so there was now a bit of background noise where I was and I asked if we could reconnect when there was less noise, but the recruiter insisted that we resume our convo although they were clearly irritated by the background noise. I guess the recruiter liked what I said because I moved on to next stage which was a more technical interview with the hiring manager. The hiring manager and I had a good talk (although they were late calling me again) and I was invited to talk with a few team members at their office. Scheduling was a little confusing as there was a few days lag in sending my confirmation - in fact, it seems like they forgot about me until I reached out to ask for the confirmation. They tell you not to come into the building more than 10 minutes early. I was 15 minutes early, so I stood in front of the building for 5 minutes. Team members were nice. Spent a couple of hours onsite getting to know everyone, talking about my background and how my experience working for a traditional electronics company might transfer over to a more CPG/personal electronics space. Towards the end, they said they would follow up with me within a handful of days.
I follow up with the recruiter and coordinator twice over the period of 2 weeks and they mention that they are still in the decision making process and that as soon as they hear something, they will let me know. I stopped following up at this point and it's been 6 weeks since starting this process.
Ouch. They left me hanging. I took time off work for this? What a waste. Between the late start to the interviews and lack of updates, it's obvious that the team at JUUL doesn't respect candidates' time. Looks like a pattern based on other people's feedback. Applicants beware!
