Interview
My first phone interview with a recruiter was actually great. It seemed that he was very interested in my candidacy, my design works. The recruiter explained to me about the role and the team.
Later, a design director video interviewed me and asked me to walk him through some of my design works. I selected and presented design works based on the information I got from the recruiter. He said I could choose whatever I like, either school projects or industry experiences. I presented 2 real industry projects and 1 school project, all of which I love. In the middle of the presentation, he told me that the position is for more experienced designers and that he would check if the team has a plan to hire an intern. I am a recent grad, but definitely not in a position where I should apply for intern. I have enough amount of experiences for the junior position. I'm not sure how the hiring team and the interviewers at JUUL communicate to each other in terms of hiring the right candidate, but this is definitely not a professional process.
Also, this designer/director turned off the video while I was presenting my work, I guess it's because he already decided not to move forward with me (because he thinks I should apply for an intern position).
During the last minute, he asked me if I had any questions and I asked only one question since I could already feel that he wanted to hang up. He answered my question half-heartedly.
I honestly don't understand these behaviors, very unprofessional and arrogant, this had never happened to me before, with any interviewers. I'm so disappointed by his attitude.

Interview
Standard, phone screening then in person. Standard questions too.
The thing that worth mentioning is, they are apparently looking for someone who has extensive experience and are able to function as a product designer in the beginning 3 months then switch into marketing design team. Why don’t you just hire a short term freelance? This is extremely confusing and they didn’t clarify on the job description ( my bad). If it’s a product designer role then just put it there, don’t bring in people and then tell them they don’t have experience. Read candidates resume and portfolio! What a mess of management.
I should’ve trust their interview review and turned this interview down,
