Interview
It began with a sort of screener interview with their Talent Acquisition person. She knew little to nothing about the role (she had to read the posting in our interview). Afterwards I moved on to a pretty standard interview with two of the leaders in the Customer Insights team. They were interested in specific insights I had found while working on past data analysis projects. After this interview, I received no update for 10 days. I followed up asking for an update as I was nearing the end of the interview process for another job. No response for 2 days, so I accepted another job offer. The day after, the original Talent Acquisition person contacted me asking me to call her for an update. I called, emailed, called again, and emailed, letting her know that I had another job offer and needed this information immediately. She clearly didn't care at all. These were spread across 8 hours. The next morning, no response either. Finally, I decided to call one more time in the afternoon and she answered, telling me that I didn't get the job. For one, I have never been asked to call a company to be told I didn't get the job - that's usually reserved for an email. But the greater issue is how communication could be this pathetic at a company whose work is done remotely and by an employee whose job duties are handled almost entirely through email and phone.
