I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kroger (Greenwood, IN) in May 2022
Interview
Interview went fine till the end when I was signing paperwork and the hiring manager told me it was for a completely different position that I did not apply for. I told her I would rather do stock and she tells me there is no more positions. A week later, she calls me and tells me that there isn't a position for stock with my availability (5:00am- 12:00pm) but she'll find me something to do. An hour later she calls back and tells me she'll send over forms for me to sign for fuel center and asked me to come in the following week. I politely declined the position because it would be illegal for me to work due to my age and the state's tobacco laws. She then rudely tells me she'll delete my information and that if my mom comes to her she'll tell her I turned down two offers. I thanked her and hung up. I later find out she sent out a mass email, stating that I am unable to be hired and it was all a scheme for me to work in my mother's department. I have never once brought my mother into this nor did she involve herself in anyway. I have also expressed many times that I do not want to work for the department my mother works so I am unsure where the hiring manager got that idea. I have been polite and respectful this entire time to her and yet I am treated in such a horrible and disrespectful way. Overall, I do not wish to ever work for a company that treats not only applicates like this but potentially their employees as well.

Asked basic question about work background. Talked about open positions they had. What you would do in those positions .Nothing difficult. Then told they would get back to you about an offer.
