Interview
I applied to a posting through dice.com and was contacted a few weeks thereafter for a phone interview. The gentleman on the phone was rather curt and robotic, asking cleverly crafted behavioral questions. There was very little dialogue and feedback. It took about 30 minutes and he did not really answer the questions that I asked him. He said that he would get back to me regardless of the outcome, but he never did and did not even return my phone calls. I believe that he was going to talk to six candidates on the phone and then bring in the finalists for a whole day (of torture?). It is somewhat ironic that the scientists have better personalities than the administrative and HR staff.
This of course has no bearing on the scientific staff or their accomplishments.
