I have interviewed three times now for a temporary position at Levis corporate office as an Assistant Designer. The first two interviews were via phone, however the last interview was on the Levis campus in San Francisco. I was interviewed by three people. I think it was the designer and two assistants. I am still uncertain how the interview went or if I got the job. They asked several questions, mostly regarding denim and the usual ..Where do you see yourself in five years types of questions? As if they are all pertinent in this challenging economic downturn that has effected fashion so negatively. At the end of the interview one of the people interviewing me made a rude comment to the effect that even if I was given the job, It was only temporary and that it is almost impossible to be full-time at Levis. What a frustrating experience. I am truly convinced that the disposable fashion industry is now filled with disposable Assistants, Merchants, and Designers. Who are worked to bloody death and then tossed aside for someone less tired and willing to work for less.
