I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MSCI (London, England) in Jan 2021
Interview
I applied through their website for a cloud architect role and heard back within a few days from the recruiter. Had a quick chat on the phone about my experience and why I want to move. Then four more rounds of interviews were set up with a variety of teas.
Interviewed with the hiring manager first and he seemed to be a decent guy (in fact all of them are really nice people). The problem is I applied for a cloud architect role but they arranged software engineering interviews for me. Every interviewer was also told I was interviewing for a software architect/engineer role so they asked me bunch of questions that had nothing to do with cloud.
On the 2nd and 3rd interview I had to tell the interviewer that I applied for a different role and they were confused too. So they cancelled the last interview and I never heard back from the recruiter ever again.
Of course I never even bothered to email the recruiter ... if he could arrange the wrong interviews who know is he'd remember who I was in the first place.
People I spoke with on the phone were really nice and they were very sympathetic and understanding when they realised I wasn't interviewing for their team at all.
