I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Marqeta (Oakland, CA) in Aug 2018
Interview
I reached out to the recruiter via LinkedIn to ask her to review my qualifications. She thought I was a good fit for the role and asked for my availability right away for a phone screen. We connected on the phone and she immediately transferred me to the hiring manager who I met with for a little over 40 minutes. Within minutes after the call with the hiring manager I was asked to come in two days later to meet with a panel of 5 people. The interviews went very well and based on feedback from the interviewers throughout the process my experience fit what they were looking for. Two days later I got a stock rejection email and it was quite jarring based on how well things went.
Looking back on the experience I feel like there were a few red flags. 1. The recruiter was not convincing when she explained the work environment at the company. It felt like she was selling me an untruth. 2. The immediate transfer to the hiring manager made it seem like they were hurting for candidates. Furthermore, the panel interview two days later seemed rushed. 3. That being said, each of my interviews were very positive and multiple people confirmed that my experience was a good fit, yet the end of the process came with a stock email saying they decided to not go with me as the hire. 4. I followed up with the recruiter for feedback and she told me she thought I was "great" but she did not provide specific feedback as to why they decided against me. I thought that was weird.
Something strange happened and I can't quite figure it out.

Tell me about a project you have lead that you are proud of.
Fairly straightfoward. First interview was behavioral with the hiring manager. Then onsite with 4 interviews. One was technical with a senior engineer and one was a case with a Sr. Product Manager.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Marqeta (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2022
Interview
Fairly quick process, though the recruiter did not tell me what to expect across various rounds. I think I would do better if I knew what to expect. The entire process took about 4 weeks from the start to the end.

Question 1
Typical PM questions based on product sense, estimation, strategy and analytical. There was a lot of focus on past experiences. Not too difficult, but not very easy either
