I applied directly and was later contacted by a recruiter from their Poland office. From the very beginning, I was crystal clear that the location was not commutable for me and that I could only consider a fully remote role. This was acknowledged, and I was moved through several rounds of interviews, including with team members in the UK and leadership in the US.
After weeks of interviews, I was told I had been successful and that the final step was Right to Work verification. Despite this being an entirely remote process in most companies, they insisted on doing this in person. I agreed and a date was set.
Just a few days before that date, the recruiter called to inform me that they had changed the role to hybrid, now requiring 1–2 days a week in the office — a complete reversal of what was agreed from the start.
This last-minute switch felt incredibly unprofessional and disrespectful of my time and commitment. They wasted weeks of my time and showed a lack of integrity in their hiring process. I would never consider working with this company again, and I would caution others to get any remote/hybrid agreement in writing before proceeding.
