I interviewed at McKesson in Jan 2016

      Interview

I got a data challenge from on of their data scientists, then I had multiple onsite interviews. The data challenge was easy and gave me more insight on how their processes work. It was mainly about getting insights out of data and I used SQL and Python to solve the problems. After the submission, I got an invitation for an onsite interview to meet the director of the program and their data scientists/engineers. Many of them went well, but... One of their Data Scientists (He works as a contractor) is so arrogant and he thinks very highly of himself. He is literally "the rude guy" that you face when interviewing with unprofessional teams. he asked me irrelevant questions and when I was answering he interrupted me a lot. It was like he was trying to prove that he is the best and I can never have answers as good as his. He even told me how I should write my resume or how i should have answered a question, which could be ok if he was friendly but he was far from having that kind of personality . A few of the times, and in a middle of my answers, he asked me a totally different questions. I first thought that it's his strategy to examine how someone reacts in such situations, but at the end of the interview I knew that it was just his personality to be rude. Anyway, after the first onsite interview, i was invited to the second onsite to present two more data challenges that I had done before. I already had a very bad experience with the first interview and wasn't sure if I wanted to consider them anymore. But the girl, who was my direct contact with the company and was going to be my direct supervisor if i joined them, was very nice and smart. She obviously was trying to be helpful and make the process pleasant and I thought that I could work with her well. So I went for the second onsite and it went well. The feedback i got was that they really care about communication and they need someone who communicates everything efficiently, which is ironic considering what happened after the second onsite. After the last interview, I was told many times that team favor me a lot, the director likes me, they are trying to do the formal hiring procedure, asking to update them with my status, if I am still interested, blah blah and finally that girl told me she is leaving the company! (i wasn't surprised to be honest) and there are looking for 1-2 more people; after a month the director told me based on the feedback on my interviews I am not considered! and there is actually no opening any more!!! Very unprofessional and the funniest communication that I have ever seen from a company. I am actually so happy that I didn't join them since it could be the worst decision of my life. It's so ironic that they insisted on effective communication, on something that they are so bad at.
