The initial application process began at a computer kiosk at the main Meijer store. It was a lengthy, but fairly basic, application form. Once submitted, I was contacted roughly one week later by the Gas Station Team Leader. He asked whether or not I was still interested in pursuing the position, to which I happily replied that I was. We set up an initial phone interview to occur a few days later, when I had the time.
The phone interview was fairly simple, consisting of a few questions about my former employment, if I had knowledge of how to work a cash register or not, and some other basic things. Once we finished that, we set a date for an in-store interview sometime in that next week.
The in-store interview was more formal, as I sat down with the GS Team Leader and the Store Director In-Charge. The Team Leader asked some follow-up question to get a better idea of my former job, if I was currently in school/what I studied when I was still in school. The SDIC asked question like if I was familiar with the position I was applying for, or what I thought came with being a Gas Station TM, why I thought I was qualified for the job, and what my availability would be like.
All in all, a fairly painless interview process with about a week more for the background check to clear.
