A recruiter approached in LinkedIn & started with phone interview.
Recruiter Interview :
Went over my experiences in the resume , he provided good information about the opportunity, project & the company. He was very professional & even took my availability for next rounds in that call itself.
I have next round with Hiring manager:
Went over my experiences in the resume , he provided good information about the opportunity, project & the company. Asked if I was interested in working on multiple teams & also managing & training team members. He told more about the teams & how they work. I asked for what the expectations from the role & what is the project this role is open for? He told more about how he want to grow the teams & future planning for the apps they were working on.The answers I got , It was little confusing for me If hiring manager had a clarity on the expectations of the role.
Followed by Technical Round in following week:
Intros, Question about my experience in detailed, daily duties, FE or BE preference.
Coding Exercise in coder pad : Count the number of occurrences of a word in a book?
Follow up questions for the code written, Write edge cases to test the use case , what kind of exceptions will the code have, how will you handle the exceptions, What other data structures or ways can be used to solve this problem ?
I was able to solve the problem & also listed out 3 edge cases, exception handling cases & other ways.
I felt the person who interviewed me was kind of adamant & she was looking for more than I could think of then.
Overall I didn't feel comfortable with the way the interviewer was repeatedly asking me for what she is expecting. The prior 2 rounds were good but this round was not ok.
After 3-4 days I received a reject email. That was expected. From the above conversations I think this company has start up culture & they still don't have all the plans structures & expectations for the roles.
The JD they have & the expectation from the s/w is very high. It lacks clarity.
