I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Michaels (Austin, TX) in Sep 2011
Interview
I interviewed with my store manager (I was already working as a cashier), and he let me know what would be expected of me if I were to get the job. I asked questions of him too. He ended up hiring someone else as the part-time CEM, but she only lasted about 2 months, before accepting a job elsewhere that paid more and she got more hours. A month after she was gone, my store manager pulled me into his office and asked if I was still interested in the CEM position. I said I was, and he let me know that I would start training on that next Sunday. I am currently looking for another job, because the promotion and pay raise aren't great, and I have bills to pay.

Question 1
What type of skills do you have that are related to this position?
Easy interview process, met with multiple people, was able to ask questions, got a tour of the store and explained what I would be doing if I got the job.

Interview
The interview was the easiest interview I’ve ever had! They asked me 3 questions. They were short staffed so I was hired on the spot. Interview took about 5 minutes.
Very casual one on one interview. Moved up within the company to the current position I am at now. It can be hard to get a management position without working there prior. From my experience the store manager is the one to conduct interviews.
