I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Michaels (Pittsford, NY) in Sep 2011
Interview
They only check your resume if you submit it, then go in to check it about a week later. The interview is very basic, you just fill out some paperwork and the assistant manager asks you some basic questions such as "why do you want to work here?" and "do you have experience with art supplies". It's very low-key and low-pressure, and as long as you're polite, you should do well.

describe a challenging moment in your career and how you reacted to it. I said one time i had a conflict with someone and then we were able to resolve it.

Interview
Done over the phone, just a simple phone screening talking with the Store Manager. It was fairly short, only around 15-20 minutes. The manager asked about experience on my resume, as well as my availability.

Interview
Easy. I walked in the store to ask if they had any job openings, and the manager interviewed me on the spot, and offered me a job. I submitted an application afterwards.
