Interview
Things actually started out well. The initial hiring screen was clear and organized, and the recruiter outlined the process and emphasized that the team wanted to move quickly with the holidays approaching. The conversation was straightforward, covering my background, interest in the role, and compensation expectations.
The second interview took place a week later with the person managing the role. It was a focused 30 minutes with standard questions and a brief window for my own. Up until that point, everything seemed on track.
The process deteriorated quickly after that. I heard nothing for two weeks, so I followed up before Thanksgiving to acknowledge the holiday and reaffirm my interest. I received a brief response after the holiday saying an update would come within the week. After that, communication simply stopped. I followed up again the next week and never received any reply.
Later that week, I checked the portal and found my status had been changed to “no longer in consideration.” There was no email, no explanation, and no acknowledgement of the messages I had sent. The issue is not the rejection itself; it is the complete lack of communication and consideration for a candidate who invested time and effort into the process.
