First of all, we have a relaxing conversation with the HR (introduce each other), and then the manager of this department who is working quite long here introduced the information about the department. After that, we met our interviewers. first of all, I met the two interviewers for the motivational interview, both of them are kind and nice, and they asked a lot of questions which including: introduce yourself; what your motivation comes from that you applied this company? (talked about you like chanllengeble work and you wanna to work in the multi-cultrual environemnt is fine); talk about the bad experience that you worked in the team( which you feel unhappy); do you like to work in a team, why, give the example; talk about the successful project, what kind of role you played and what you do for the each step( a big complex project, you can give the example of the collaboration within the group in the university), if you and your team members have different ideas what should you do, if only two of you in this group and both of you persist in your own ideas what should you do? if you work in the group and one of your team members don't wanna do anything what should you do? Do you wanna be the leader or the supportive member? For the second round, which is the technique interview, also two interviewers, questions includes the excel, VBA, Python, SQL, all of them I don’t know how to answer(cry), so questions including: say some excel function, say something about the VLOOKUP and the parameter inside the brackets( I wanna die), conditional formatting and where you should click( I really forgot to click where), something about the pivot table and where you should click( never learned this before), what you know about the VBA and how to operate( I really don’t know),About the SQL, he asked about the “grouped by”, and also give me the example and let me give him to answer( quite basic calculation), And also another two quite professional questions I really don’t know and I just say I never learned before and now I also don’t remember them(LOL). Next time is about the HR interview which is so basic just ask about things of the past six years(Is there a criminal record? Just something easy). Last one, another technology interview again, which is about financial knowledge, quite macro this time, at first they introduce them again, their work is really interesting for me, the questions including introducing yourself(feel tired of answering this question), why join morgan? what did you learned from corporate finance and quantitive methods(just something about that), what is stock, just explain it within your own words is fine, do you know anything else like stock, I said bonds and she let me explain that again, if you are an investment bank in Britain what you should pay attention to when you have business with other companies all over the world; did you focus on the economic events, take a example; can you say some ratio which can help analyzing risk(I just said some and try to explain them and they said it’s okay we didn’t ask the definition, LOL), the derivatives( I don’t know).
These are all questions I met today, after the interview they will let you feel free to ask any questions, just ask( I asked a lot because I feel like maybe I can not have another opportunities to come here again haha)
