Interview
2 days after I submitted the on-line application, they called and asked a phone interview. The person is very nice, and asked some standard HR interview questions, like why you think you are qualified to this position, and why you are interested in finance. Then a week later, they arranged a on-site interview. It is about 3 hours long with 3 person, 1 to 1 interview. The first one asked many technical questions (statistical) as well as HR questions (What do you know about Morningstar). The second person is very easy and friendly. Basically asked me to ask him all sorts of questions regarding to this position and the company. I am not sure whether it means he is not interested to know me or think I am good for this position. The third one asked some questions about my CV, all standard. The office is very nice, and people are friendly. However, I never got call or email about their decision although I emailed and called a couple times. :P I guess no news means bad news, but I would prefer if they can tell you something no matter good or bad news.

When you look back, is there anything you regret and wish you have done it differently?
Intro phone call. Call was conversational. Some behavior questions, but not overly structured. Flow and questions made sense given role. Then given a presentation/case to develop at home. It was to review a business solution and present the best option. It was then emailed to the team for review.

(Morningstar Netherlands). The experience was disappointing. The call was scheduled for an earlier time, but I received the call nearly two hours late, with no acknowledgment or apology for the delay. When the interview began, it felt rushed. Basic questions such as “Tell me about yourself” or “Why Morningstar?” were not asked, and there was no opportunity at the end to ask my own questions. Moreover, the recruiter asked questions that I had already answered in my initial application, such as my location, salary expectations, visa status, and willingness to relocate. This gave the impression that my application hadn't been reviewed beforehand, which was discouraging.
