Long, several rounds over the course of 6 weeks. I must have met in total 6 or 7 people and take home skills assignment and presentation. To me a presentation needs to be 100 percent accruate and vetted to show hiring managers and I created one that did this taking at least 1 day of my life.
So I go thru the process and I keep passing and moving to the next round. It is a fit, but not a perfect fit when comapred to description...Whatever gaps there were we easily transferrable skills, but in essence sales acts in the form of a large call center not with a couple dozen of specialists. My background is more along the lines of working with a couple dozen specialists.
So I am finally at one of the last interviews and 35-40 days into the process and I ask one of the last interviewers the next steps. He tells me that he has 3 more people to interview. I am thinking omg, 4-5 rounds in and I still am at 1/4! Later that day I get the benefits package. Although, I am not sure this is a perfect fit, I know I can do the job and I am excited. Why would someone send me the package and not be interested? Well, then I was ghosted. I followed up several days later and several days after that I got some kind of message about skills not matching job description. Ok, fine, why was I passed to the whole team for interviews if I am not a good match. Waste of time, buyer beware,
