Their Recruiter reached out to me. Resume submitted and a phone screen with their architect scheduled. It was a coding test, was asked 3 simple coding questions, answered and was told that I will be called in for an in-person.
The scheduling after that took a couple of weeks (reasons being their coordinator being on vacation to coordinator being backed up).
In person interview scheduled for 3:15 PM, i promptly reach their office 10 mins in advance and then see this email from the recruiter/coordinator that there was a change and asking me if i could go in 30 mins late. I was already there and decided to just sit there, stare at their employees and read a magazine.
Finally , was called in for my first interview with a team lead(different from the one i was scheduled to meet, 45 mins later). At that point, i didn't want to job for multiple reasons - too far from the train station and i already had a job.
Interview was very basic..asked to search a for a number in a sorted array. Gave the algorithm but screwed (intentionally!) the java code part.
Second set of interviewers asked me to code a "blocking queue".
That is it,
No offer.
The inordinate delays and schedule changes, being far from the train station in Manhattan and having a job already in hand close to home were the reasons I wasn't interested.
Note- the place looked cluttered, congested. Too many people sitting in too little space.
