Received an email inviting me to do a video interview. Questions were typical. The company uses HireVue and AI (yep- artificial intelligence) to “analyze” and rank you – not based on your answers, but the tone of your voice, movements, etc. If you have any type of stutter, twitch, vision or hearing problem that you normally wouldn’t have to disclose – you are clearly out of luck. I am all for high tech but this is beyond crazy and discriminatory to many. It’s insulting enough that as applicants we have to deal with ATS systems that are a black hole and recruiters who often don’t have near the background of those of us interviewing for these careers in technology, but this AI “analysis” takes on a new level. I was told by the video interviewer that I would be contacted soon with the next step. A week later, received an email saying I didn’t match what they are looking for. I think your company could do so much better than this and am incredibly disappointed in a company with your potential stooping to this. I find it very hard to believe that you don’t have time to call and talk to a person.
